We are sad to announce the passing of Sydney P. Boissiere, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on March 7, 1933, in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, in the West Indies, and died peacefully at his home in Naples, Florida, on January 15, 2024.

In the prime of his life, Sydney being a lover of water was an avid boater with a passion for fishing, being dubbed “captain” while proudly wearing his infamous captains’ hat. Not only did he like to fish, he loved to swim. His most unique hobby and talents were his love of playing the steel pan drums and showing off his very charismatic dance moves to get the party started. Sydney came to America as an immigrant looking to start a new life. He was an entrepreneur who started his own business with his late wife Colleen, determined to provide the American dream for his family of which he succeeded. Sydney loved spending his retired days, with his family, enjoying his extensive VHS movie collection and walking his two “best friends”, Nala and Hansel. He will always be known for his wise mind set, stylish wear, caring nature, generosity, witty banter, feisty spirit and his innate way of lighting up a room.

Sydney is predeceased by his loving wife of more than 25 years, Colleen M. Boissiere, who he professed was the love of his life; his parents Eugene and Elmina, siblings Pamela, Frank, and Ralph. He is survived by his children: Desiree’ A. Boissiere, Lenore Boissiere, Lena Boissiere, Gail Boissiere, Reginald Boissiere, Learie Arneaud, Ingrid Boissiere, Eugene Boissiere, Carol Mcdonald, Sharon Boissiere, Alberto Ortiz; and his siblings: Peggy, Peter, Merle, Monica, John aka Popo, Matthew aka Boboy, Cynthia, Rosalind, nieces, and nephews.

The Boissiere family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, at at Naples Funeral Home, 3107 Davis Blvd., Naples, FL 34104.
