Paul Zangrillo

April 01, 1942~May 12, 2024

Paul Zangrillo passed away on May 12, 2024. He was born on April 1,1942 in Formia,
Italy, to Giovanni and Anna Zangrillo. After the death of his father, he was raised under
the care of his mother and stepfather, Mario Iannotta.

At the age of 13, Paul moved to Brooklyn, New York, marking the beginning of a new
chapter. It was there that he met his lifelong love, Rosalie Tomasi. They married on
October 5, 1963. Not long after, his daughter, AnnaMarie, and son, John, were born. In
1969, Paul brought his family to Staten Island and his family grew when his youngest
daughter, Christina was born.

Paul built a long, reputable career as a construction superintendent, contributing to the
development of high-rise buildings in Manhattan. His unwavering commitment to always
do the right thing and never take the easy way out led his family to rely on him for
advice, guidance and stability. He was always ready to help his children and friends. He
enjoyed being home and living a simple life.

After retiring, he and Rosalie relocated to Naples, Florida in 2002. They have nine
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Paul took great pride in his Italian heritage
and his adopted country, often sharing stories of his life both in Italy and his experiences
in America.

Paul’s legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will forever be cherished and remembered
by all who knew him. He made the world a better place, and while we mourn his loss,
we also celebrate his remarkable life.

Paul leaves behind a loving family who adored him: his wife, Rosalie; children, Anna-
Marie (Anthony) DePalma, John (Kim) Zangrillo, Christina (Sal) Bazaz; grandchildren,
Dana (Joseph) Sansonetti, Anthony (Brittni) DePalma, Johnny (Brianna) Zangrillo,
Nicholas Zangrillo, Tabitha Bazaz, Christian Bazaz, Sara Bazaz, Kinzley Bazaz, Abigail
Bazaz; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Sansonetti, Chloe DePalma, Anthony Joseph
DePalma; siblings, Vincent (Nonna) Iannotta, Phyllis (Thomas) Puglia, Anna (Joseph)
Nigro, Mario Iannotta; and numerous beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, siblings Joann Menchicchi, Frank
Iannotta, Connie Finazzo, step-brother Bruno Iannotta, and his in-laws, Phillip and Mary
Tomasi.

Words fail me to fully express my deep sense of loss at Paul’s passing. They simply don’t make people like Paul any more. We will not see the likes of a man of such fine caliber in this lifetime. It’s been 55 years that I have been fortunate to know both Paul and the Zangrillo family, first as neighbors on Bleeker Place, and now more family than lifelong friends. Such a blessing my path crossed with yours Paul! I will always treasure the memories!! Godspeed on your journey home…..I’ll see you on the Other Side! Have always loved you, and always will!

Our deepest heartfelt condolences. May God give you all the love and strength during this most difficult time ♥️ Paul, I have known you since I was 7 years old, and I will cherish those Bleeker Place memories forever. Especially, the hospitality and love that you and Roe have shown to both Tony and me as we grew older, from teenagers into adulthood. Life changes and time goes by. But when our paths came together, we were always so happy to see you. We had the pleasure to see you last year at Gabriella’s Communion, always handsome as ever! May you always rest in peace, and may God shine His light over the legacy that you left behind.

With love always, Josephine & Tony And with deepest sorrow from John & Tina Scala, Michael, Christopher, and Ariana Giordano
