We are saddened to announce the passing of our father, Oakley VanderPoel Andrews on February 15, 2023, in Naples, Florida.

Oakley was born on April 15, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Hawken School for middle school and Choate Rosemary Hall for high school. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and received his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve School of Law. He was a partner with BakerHostetler where he practiced estate planning for over 49 years before retiring in 2014.

Oakley was a dedicated, wonderful, selfless father who cared deeply for his family. Always the [utmost] gentleman, his kindness and generosity were known by all. He had an incredible, full life with many unique interests. He was an accomplished pole vaulter who attended the 1960 Olympics in Rome as an alternate. He loved restoring vintage motorcycles and was known to drive them through his dorm room at Yale. He was an avid bird hunter who traveled the world pursuing his passion. He enjoyed cooking gardening and reading. Oakley was involved in several philanthropies throughout his life, most notably the American Cancer Society.

He is predeceased by his wife, Mary and survived by his daughters, Catherine Zann (Patrick) and Susan Byrne (Warren), brother Horace, grandsons Oakley Byrne, Henry Byrne and Everett Zann, his loving companion, Patricia Leohr as well as extended family, countless friends, and trusted clients.
