He enjoyed racket sports, particularly squash and tennis, sailing on Lake Erie and the Bahamas and scuba diving at his house in Marsh Harbor, Abaco Bahamas. He called golf “the sport of last resort” but he enjoyed the companionship of both 18 and 9 hole golfers.

He belonged to a book discussion group that met monthly, and a weekly group that talked about current events. He also enjoyed weekly and monthly get togethers with friends for more nonstructured discussions.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Barbara Rittenhouse Glowacki, son David Chester Scott Glowacki, daughter Lara Martinez (Christopher), all three of Toledo; grandchildren Brian Richard (Bayleigh) of Fairfield, CT, and Samantha Jordan Glowacki, of New York, NY; Kelsey Ann, Hollis Olivia and Emily Merida Martinez, all of Sylvania, OH and great-grandson William Glowacki.
