Jim and Sue,

Ann and I were so sad to hear about Leo passing away. Even though I only met him a couple of times when he volunteered during the MS bike rides, I feel like I knew him well from all of Jim’s stories over the years about his coaching hockey well into his ’70s, his career with the phone company, and so on. We really feel for you and the whole family at this very difficult time. Please accept our condolences.

Jim and Sue,

My family and our hockey community were saddened to hear about the loss of Coach Leo. As so many people posted on various hockey groups upon hearing the news, he truly was a legend. He taught so many how to have the confidence to push themselves harder, gave them the nudge to think bigger, and never let them give up. We were lucky to have been taught by such a passionate coach! Your family will remain in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

So sorry to the all the Marchioni’s especially Carol. I’m very sad to hear that Leo has passed. He was such a good person, and so funny. He will be missed. I’ll always remember his Christmas Italian cookies. The skunk on Christmas Eve, and upon arrival on Christmas day he announced loudly, The Smelly People Are Hear”. Also a favorite, when he straightened out a strap on my brides maid dress at Bob and Cathy-Jo wedding as we waited to be called in. He gave me a slap on the back and said “You’re All Set Kiddo”. I walked out with a big slap mark on my back. It was funny then and now. That’s how I will remember Leo, a funny, tough and loving man. He will be missed by all who knew him. Especially his family and all his grandkid and their kids Yet we have our stories to tell, he will live on through all that knew and loved him.
