Michael Batson, Sr.
October 23, 1957 – December 14, 2022
On December 14, 2022, Michael Joseph Batson, Sr. passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife (Lynne) and son (Mitchell) by his side after a long battle with cancer.
Michael was born in Naples, Florida on October 23, 1957.
Michael enjoyed spending any free time he had in the woods hunting or on the water fishing. Michael was very passionate about these hobbies. He enjoyed sharing his passion with others, especially any child who was just being introduced into hunting and fishing. It brought Michael great joy sharing his knowledge, which would lead to someone catching their first big snook or harvesting their first buck. He had his own screen business, which allowed him to set his schedule so he could enjoy his hobbies. Prior to having his own business, Michael worked for his father alongside his brothers, building pool and screen enclosures all throughout the Naples’s area.
Every person whose path he crossed said Michael was the most friendly and honest person they ever met. Michael was known to always tell you like it was and sometimes it was his brutal honesty that you needed to hear at the time.
Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lynne and sons Mitchell Batson and Mike Batson Jr. Michael was proceeded in death by his father Murray Batson, Sr. and brothers Murray Batson, Jr and Melvin Batson. He is survived by his mother, Lola Williams, sisters Janice Johnson and Joan Lind and brother

Mike I love you and miss you dearly. I didn’t share your passion for hunting. I would always yell real loud “run deer run” make all kinds of noise to warn the deer. You never got mad you would just smile and say you love the challenge. Oh Mike we did share the music. All the memories of us listening to oldies in the car or home. The smile on your face when I would change the song to one of your favorites. You would light up and sing and start moving them long arms and legs of yours. Either one of us were good singers. It didn’t matter we would sing at the top of our lungs. Waiting for each other to mess up and not know the words to the songs. Oh I treasure those times. The laughter , the smiles, the good feeling when that certain song would play. I know you are in heaven singing and dancing with the angels. There will be another day we will listen and sing to our oldies together. I love you.

My big bubba you will always be. We had a lot of good talks early in the mornings. We talked about solving the world problems to how much we as a family love each other. Talks of as we was growing up and how I always wanted to hang out with you. You will be missed and I love you so much but rest my brother until we see each other again

I met Mike about 12 years ago. He was one of the most incredible men I knew. He was always ready to help with anything. He replaced more screens on my lanai then I can count. All I had to do was call and he would come over. We could sit on his lanai and talk about hunting and fishing, and would answer any questions I might have. He will be greatly missed by many. RIP Mike you fought a good fight and now no more pain. Enjoy hunting and fishing in heaven. Catch the biggest fish and shoot the biggest deer. You will always be in my thoughts. Linda
