Manuel (Manny) S. Machado, age 80, passed away surrounded by his family in Naples, Florida on April 5th, 2023. Manny was born in Pico, Azores, and moved to the Boston area, where he resided for the majority of his life in Arlington, Massachusetts, and Cape Cod. Upon retirement, they moved to Naples where they have lived for over twenty years.

Manny was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary Lou, of over fifty years, and a loving parent to their two daughters, Michelle Machado Moreira and Melissa Gomes, and his sons-in-law, Anthony Moreira, and Magno Gomes. He leaves behind three grandchildren whom he deeply loved and cherished, Marysa & Mason Gomes, and Amber Moreira. He is also survived by his sisters, many nieces and nephews, beloved relatives, and friends.

Manny will be remembered for his sense of humor and love for his family. He was a man full of life and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will forever be in our hearts and our memories.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at the family home in Naples, Florida on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1:00 pm. There will be a mass for Manny at St. Anthony’s Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 16th at 11 am. Immediately following, there will be a reception at the Faialense Club on Cambridge St. in Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
