John William Rees Sr., known as Jack to his friends, died Sunday, June 18th, 2024. John William Rees was born in Highland, Illinois on August 28, 1936. He was the son of the late Henry and Vurla Rees. He was an only child. He graduated high school from Mcray Dewey in Troy, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Education from McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois. He received a master’s degree and specialist certification from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. He worked in the Triad School District for over 40 years as a teacher, assistant principal and school bus supervisor. He was married to Dorothy June Dively in 1957. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and Dorothy had 5 children. He was proceeded in death by his parents Henry and Vurla Rees. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, sons John William Jr, Michael Henry and wife Lynn, David James and Allen Matthew and wife Tina and adopted daughter Susan Rees. He and Dorothy had 12 grandchildren, Lea Collins and husband Andrew, Amanda Rees, Sarah Riley and husband Cris, Chris Rees, Emily Sage and husband Derrick, Nicole Dutt and husband Michael, Andrew Rees, Donald Rees and wife Renuka, Steven Rees and wife Anna, Casey Frank and husband Josh, Nathan Rees and Zachary Rees along with 7 great-grandchildren. The Rees family will receive visitors on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 10:30am-12:30pm, at Naples Funeral Home 3107 Davis Blvd., Naples, Florida 34104.
