Anthony (Tony) Polvino, age 94, originally from Ardmore, PA passed away peacefully on
August 9, 2022 in Naples, Florida.

Tony was born on October 3, 1927 to Thomas J and Josephine Polvino (LaCorte) in
Charleroi, PA. He was raised in Ardmore and attended Lower Merion High School where
he was an avid soccer player and gained the nickname “Foot”, which continued to follow
him into his adult years. After graduation he enlisted and served in the US Navy. He was
honorably discharged on August 9, 1946 and received the Pacific Theater Ribbon and
Victory Medal.

He later met Mary DiOttavio and they were married on June 28, 1947. They were married
for 60 years before his spouse died in 2007. Together they had 3 children, 7
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Tony served as a Police Officer for Lower Merion Township for 20 years and was a
lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #28. He then worked and later
retired from Allstate Insurance where he served as a sales agent and later advancing to
district sales manager. He loved to dance and sing to his favorite artist, Frank Sinatra. He
often made his own recordings of many of his songs. He continued to serenade people
with his voice for as long as he was able.

He was a devout Catholic and 3th Degree (Council 3327) and 4t Degree (Council 934)
lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Tony is preceded in death by his wife Mary; his brother Russell and his sister Angelina.

Tony is survived by his son Thomas (Anna); his daughter Fran Carr (Tim); and his daughter
Marian McAleer (Charles). He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 6 great
grandchildren.

Family and Friends are invited to attend funeral services which will be held on Monday,
August 22, 2022 at St Paul’s Catholic Church, 2007 New Hope Street, East Norriton, PA
19401. Visitation at the church will be from 10am to 11am followed by Mass. Interment
will immediately follow at St Patrick’s Cemetery & Mausoleums, 714 DeKalb Street,
Norristown, PA 19401.

Special recognition is given to Barrington Terrace Assisted Living, Solaris Healthcare
Imperial LTC and especially Vitas Hospice for the loving care they provided to him.
