Joyce Reynolds died Saturday July 11, 2020 after a long illness. Joyce was the beloved wife of Richard Reynolds. She was born in Newton, MA on Sept 27, 1936, the daughter of the late Robert J & Lila E (Brown) Gilkie. Joyce is survived by her husband of 62 years and her children Sharlene (Andrew Santo) of Reading, MA; Blaine (Tanya) of Ipswich, MA; Suzanne (Barry Abrams) of The Dalles, OR; Joyann (Jackie Watson) of Amesbury, MA; and Richelle (Peter Munroe) of Kensington, NH. Along with her siblings Robert Gilkie of Sandwich MA, Derilyn Forte of Waltham, MA and Naples, FL and Gerard Gilkie of Watertown, MA. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother Marvin Gilkie. She was also the beloved grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 2. Joyce graduated from Watertown High School in 1954 as a member of the National Honor Society. She later graduated from Hickox Secretarial School and worked as a secretary, executive secretary and executive administrator during her career. After her marriage to Richard they moved to Danvers, MA and raised their children there. In Danvers, Joyce was involved with Women’s Republican Club, a local bridge group and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her faith and her family were very important to her. She became a Eucharistic Minister while living in Danvers and when she and Richard retired and moved to Naples, she joined St. William’s Parish where she continued as a Eucharistic Minister and became an integral part of St. Vincent De Paul and the Women’s Catholic Club. Joyce enjoyed several pilgrimages to Medjugore, Rome, and Fatima.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Williams’ Church in Naples on July 17th at 10 am. There will be a Mass at a future date in Massachusetts where her family and many friends still reside. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her name to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Naples District Council, 4451 Mercantile Ave., Naples, FL 34104
