Gloria Marie Janssen

November 6, 1945 – August 30, 2023

Gloria Marie (Chabot) Janssen, 77, of Naples, Florida, passed away on August 30, 2023 at Avow’s Frances Georgeson Hospice House.

Gloria, or GoGo as she was known, was born on November 6, 1945 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. She was the third of six children of Raoul and Georgette (Laurencelle) Chabot.

Gloria loved life and having fun. Her life was filled with creativity and she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and antiquing. Her favorite outlet was crocheting the many hats, tops, dolls and other fun items she loved to give as gifts. She was a talented homemaker and had an eye for making anything beautiful, whether in the house or in the garden. She was an excellent cook and whether it was something new or an old family recipe, she had a way of putting together a delicious meal for those she loved. She found joy in singing, especially at church and her heart was happiest when she was singing praises to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Gloria and her husband Jim loved spending time together, whether taking motorcycle rides, spending time on their pontoon boat or just dining at their favorite restaurant spot. She took delight in all of her children and grandchildren and held them close in her heart. She made countless friends throughout her life and her sweetness and kindness will be remembered by many.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Raoul and Georgette, her sister Claire Buchanan, and her brothers Robert Chabot and Tom Chabot.

She is survived by her husband Jim Janssen; her daughter Rachel Foyst (Jay), her sons Jim Hayes (Shelli Jo), Matt Hayes (Jessica), Thom Hayes (Kendra) and her stepson Dustin Janssen; her sisters, Doris Harden and Julie Wahl; her grandchildren, Shelby Hayes, AlexHayes, Sam Hayes, Joe Foyst, Sarah Hayes, Henry Janssen, Theo Janssen, and Wren Hayes. Visitors will be received on Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Naples Funeral Home, 3107 Davis Blvd., Naples Florida 34104.

A burial service will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association at a page honoring her at https://donate.als.org/fundraiser/4896734
