September 10, 1951~May 22, 2025

Linda West, 73, of Naples, Florida, passed away on May 22, 2025, after a remarkable 32-year battle with breast cancer. She fought with grace, grit, and just the right amount of sarcasm.

Born on September 10, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, Linda was the firstborn of six children to Robert and Florence Carpentier. As the oldest sibling, she set the tone—strong, determined, protective, and always a little sassy. Her leadership started early and continued throughout her life as she cared deeply for everyone around her.

She spent her life lifting others up—whether as a loving wife, devoted mom, Grammy extraordinaire, or the one everyone called when they needed advice (or a dose of honesty). She leaves behind her husband, Ron West; her daughters, Ja’Nice Long (Darrell) and Brittney Kitts (Ryan); and six grandchildren who adored her: Kayli, Gavin, Logan, Bryli, Dylan, and Kacen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Florence, her sister Robyn Kennedy, and her nephews Johnny Carpentier and Jason Hunter.

Linda had a gift for turning everyday moments into something special. She excelled at every job she held but found her greatest joy in family. After retiring 11 years ago, she leaned into the good life—more family time, fewer alarm clocks, and plenty of time to spoil her grandkids and dish out Grammy wisdom.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Felipe’s Mexican Taqueria, 4255 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, FL 34103. As she wished, a private cremation has taken place beforehand. Expect laughter, great food, and maybe a toast or two in her honor—tequila encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity close to your heart. Linda would love nothing more than to see kindness continue in her name.

She will be remembered for her strength, her humor, and the fierce love she gave to all who knew her.

She will definitely be missed. I met her while working at physicians regional when I found out her condition I told her you need to retire and go on disability and enjoy your family. God only knows with this sickness how long you may have so why not enjoy it and to my surprise it was a long time.
A well deserved time and as I have read, she did enjoy it. May Ron and her family as close as they are surround Ron as it will be hard. I love Linda as a sister and someone I could look up to. She will definitely be missed by me with love Mary.

What an awesome ‘cousin from St. Louis’ (we always had something to talk about). But mostly, Linda always knew the right thing to say at the right time! Her wit and sarcasm was always point on!! And she was genuinely more interested in you and your life. I loved visiting with her in her ‘Everglades’ home…she loved her orchids. I will miss her terribly, there is a huge hole in my heart. I’m grateful to Ron and daughters and grandchildren for giving her the best life ever!! With all my love…Mary Jane
