In the care of
Naples Funeral Home & Cremation Services
Rená Michele Voghel, 59, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2025, surrounded by friends and family who loved her deeply.

Rená was born on July 18th, 1966, in Waterbury, Connecticut to Gail Voghel and Roland (Pete) Voghel. She spent her early years in Connecticut before her family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, and later to Key West, Florida. Over the years, after living in a handful of Florida cities, Rená found her heart’s home in Naples.

Rená worked in the service industry for many years, where she became a local favorite among her regulars. Her charm, humor, and caring nature made everyone feel welcome and special — she had a gift for turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.

She was a friend to many, a woman impossible to forget — full of spirit, spunk, and heart. Though small in stature, she was mighty in presence and personality. Rená loved to talk and connect with people, always eager to share a story, a laugh, or a bit of wisdom she’d gathered along her journey.

Her truck was more than just transportation — it was her sense of freedom and adventure. With her nails done, hoop earrings in, and sunglasses on, Rená was always ready to roll, radiating confidence and that unmistakable flair that was all her own. A true animal lover, she cherished the dogs who shared her life and found her greatest joy in walks on the beach, discovering new places, and savoring life’s simple, beautiful moments.

Rená is preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Roland (Pete) Voghel. She is survived by her brother, Peter Voghel (Kevin, Chase); her cherished stepchildren, Kalin Batko (Nik) and Joe Perkl (Kim); and a wide circle of lifelong friends who were blessed to know her vibrant soul.

Rená’s wisdom, strength, and energy will live on through all those who were lucky enough to share in her light. She lived fully and freely—with love, laughter, and a dash of tequila.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Patty Baker Humane Society.

When I heard of Rena’s passing, all I could do was sigh. The sadness I felt was not only personal, but also for this world losing someone so beautiful and so kind. I don’t know anyone in my life who carried more integrity and dignity than she did. I will miss her more than words could ever express.

I absolutely adored Rena!!! She came into our lives as a caregiver for my father (97 yrs), then became immediate friends. She loved my dad and kept great company with him. She sure could talk and make him laugh.

While I kept in touch with Rena while she was hospitalized, by text and by phone. We had planned a visit, but she cancelled because she was not feeling well. I have been texting and calling for the past few weeks, yet no response from her. I was so worried, and now I know why. After a few hours of searching and talking with healthcare provider, I heard the news. I am so sorry and heartbroken. Rena was a fabulous, energetic and loving person. I will treasure our friendship forever. I thank God that she came into our lives, even though our time was much too short.

I will always remember Rena for the quiet strength she carried and the comfort she brought simply by being herself. She had a way of making people feel seen, even on days when she barely said a word.
What I hold closest are the small moments: the way Rena listened with her whole heart, the way she noticed things others overlooked, the way she would say “ Good morning sweetheart “ every day popping her head into my office, and how her kindness showed up in actions more than words. She didn’t have to try to be special; she just was. And even though she’s no longer here, the space she filled in my life hasn’t disappeared — it’s become a place I visit in memory, in gratitude, and in love.

Rena’s spirit stays with me in the lessons she taught without ever meaning to: to be gentle, to care deeply, and to never underestimate the power of simply showing up. I miss her, but I’m grateful I got to know her.

Though I only knew Rene a year, she made a lasting sweet impression….we had just joined NSYC, she made us feel so welcome. Her kindness and caring came through to me each time I enter her space. And she ran a great “room”…. Seemingly everywhere at once! I will miss you Rene!

Shelly and I have very fond memories of Rena. She was a big personality that lit up a room with positive energy, no matter what the circumstances. She was a great listener and genuinely cared about everyone that she interacted with. Her sense of humor carried an edge that made you wonder if she was serious. The beautiful smile and twinkle in her eyes revealed the truth. Rena is in a better place and at peace. We will all miss her and feel blessed to have known her.
