John David Virves, lovingly known as “Johny,” was born on May 18, 2008, in Naples, Florida, and passed away on May 11, 2026, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

Johny was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was known for always putting others before himself and for making people feel loved, welcomed, and important. His caring heart, contagious laughter, and loving personality brought comfort and happiness to so many. Johny had a special way of making every person around him feel seen and valued, and his kindness left a lasting impact on his family, friends, and community.

He loved laughing, spending time with his friends, and taking risks to accomplish new challenges. Johny was hardworking, determined, and full of ambition. He had already finished high school early at Palmetto Ridge High School and proudly began attending Florida SouthWestern State College in January 2026. He was eagerly looking forward to graduating this year, turning 18, and beginning his future career as a radiologist. He had big dreams, a strong heart, and a future filled with purpose.

Even in passing, Johny continued to give to others through the selfless gift of organ donation, saving and changing the lives of many. His legacy of love, generosity, and compassion will forever live on through those he helped and everyone blessed enough to know him.

Johny is survived by his loving parents, Carlos and Claudia Virves; his sister, Catherin Virves; his brother, Carlos Virves Jr.; his beloved niece, Scarlett Virves; and his grandfather, Roberto Lorenzo. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his godfather, Nelson Garcia; his godmother, Pamela Garcia; his godsister, Gabi Garcia; his uncle, Virves Toledo; and his aunt, Juana Toledo, along with the many family members and friends who will forever cherish and honor his memory.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Johny’s love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will remain with us always. He taught us the importance of loving deeply, living fully, and always caring for others. This is not goodbye forever, but until we meet again.

John 6:40

“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

I had the honor to know this young gentleman thru his mother. One day I went to the store were he was working. I was looking for something. He approached my to ask if I needed help with a big, beautiful smile. I can tell that he had a beautiful heart. And that's how I want to remember him. God, has called back to his side this beautiful angel, but Johny has left all of us the legacy of a greatful heart and giving others the opportunity of a second chance to live. May God help his family to find strength in this difficult moments.

When school just felt like too much John was always there to send me funny videos and pictures and I miss the talks we’d have about chikawa. He’d give me gum every day and I would share answers with him and we were the best lab partners.
