In Loving Memory of Homayoon (Ralph) Akhavi
1939 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather who departed this life peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born January 9th 1939, in Tehran, Iran. Ralph lived a life marked by strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom. He was a proud Army Veteran who served with honor, and distinction. Ralph had a masters degree from Columbia University. Ralph also owned a large pharmaceutical company in Iran. He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a steady presence to all who knew him. His gentle humor and enduring spirit will be deeply missed.
Throughout his life, he exemplified the values of hard work, humility, and compassion. His life story is nothing short of miraculous. Ralph touched many lives with his generosity and grace.
He leaves behind a family who cherished him dearly: wife Marie Akhavi, Leila Varcoe, Devon Varcoe, Alfrande Pierre, Quinnlan Varcoe, Chelsea Swallow, and Josephine Swallow, and countless others whose lives were better because he was in them.
A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 23 at the Winding Cypress clubhouse. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Stop Soldier Suicide, or Lely High school, a local title 1 school that he felt strongly about helping.
Though he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts. There will always be a part of our hearts missing. Rest peacefully, Ralph (Granddad) We love you always. روحش شاد باشد
